Snowflakes fall on the North Fork; more to come tomorrow night?

Winter weather has finally arrived, nearly a month after the official start of the season and hours earlier than was forecast.

The first snowflakes of the season touched down on the North Fork shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday, though weather.com says “no significant snow accumulations” are expected. Snow was predicted to begin about 9 p.m. tonight

The National Weather Service calls for blowing snow with west-southwest wind between 15 and 25 mph with a low of 32 degrees tonight.

One to two inches of snow is currently in the forecast for tomorrow night.
