What’s happening at tonight’s North Fork Environmental Council meeting?

BETH YOUNG FILE PHOTO | The water authority is planning to install a turbine similar to this one recently installed at Pindar Vineyards in Peconic.

The Laurel Lake Preserve wind turbine plan and a moratorium on Suffolk County’s water quality fund program for open space acquisitions — which is being considered in the county Legislature — are two big items to be discussed at tonight’s North Fork Environmental Council meeting.

Other topics on the Mattituck group’s agenda tonight include a development project planned for near Hashamomuck Pond in Southold and a waste water pipeline proposal connecting the Shelter Island Heights Property Owners Corporation to Greenport Village’s sewage treatment plant.

The meeting is set for 6 p.m. at the Floyd Memorial Library on First Street in Greenport Village.

The meeting is open to the public.
