Mary J. Zaneski

Mary Josephine Zaneski, 88, of Mattituck, died February 19, 2012, at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, N.Y.

She was born in Laurel, N.Y., on September 14, 1923, to Alexander and Marianna Wilcenski.

She was retired from Hazeltine Corp. in Riverhead. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue, a member of the Altar Rosary Society and a member of the Polish Town Civic Association.

According to her family, she enjoyed travel, golf, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ms. Zaneski is survived by her husband of 65 years, Frank, and her son, Raymond (Christine), both of Mattituck; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her brothers Edward, Mitchell and John Wilcenski. She was predeceased by siblings Anthony and Peter Wilcenski and Josephine Bogdan.

Visiting hours will take place Tuesday, February 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home, 13805 Main Road, Mattituck, N.Y.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, February 22, at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church, followed by interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cutchogue.
