Cops: Three local businesses sold alcohol to minors

Three local businesses were busted for selling alcohol to minors after a Riverhead police sting last Thursday, according to a statement from police.

Police said Freddy Collado, 51, of Freeport sold alcohol to a minor at the Stop and Go Mini Mart on West Main Street in Riverhead; Ana Flores, 20, of Flanders sold alcohol to a minor at the OK Petro station on East Main Street in Riverhead; and Gokhan Gunacar, 27, of Miller Place sold alcohol to a minor at the Superior Gas station on Main Road in Aquebogue.

All three suspects were charged with unlawfully dealing with a child, processed and released on appearance tickets. The three businesses were referred to the New York State Liquor Authority, police said.

The Superior Gas station was cited last August for selling alcohol to minors, police said, when an investigation led to the arrest of Mr. Gunacar’s father, 64-year-old Gurdogan Gunacar.
