Former Riverhead resident Jerry G. Crampe of Mattituck died April 6 at the Westhampton Care Center. He was 75.
He was born Dec. 3, 1936, in Indiana to Bal and Dorothy Jean Crampe. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1964, he worked as a general contractor in Riverhead.
Mr. Crampe was also a licensed charter captain and enjoyed fishing and playing golf, according to family members.
Predeceased by his son Scott and his companion, Elizabeth Petrowski, he is survived by his sons Alex, of Flanders, and Andrew, of Riverhead; a granddaughter; and his former wife, Eileen Andrews.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, April 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. Interment will take place Friday, April 13, at 10:30 a.m. at Calverton National Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
