Cops: 23-year-old man seriously injured in Riverhead car crash; three others sent to hospital

A man was airlifted and three other people were sent to an area hospital following a car crash Saturday afternoon on Mill Road in Riverhead, police said.
A 23-year-old man was driving a Honda on Mill Road and crashed into a Dodge van carrying a male driver and two passengers, police said. The van was attempting to exit a housing development at the intersection of Hinda Blvd. shortly after 2 p.m., police said.
The driver of the Honda suffered a leg injury and was airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital, police said. The three people in the van were taken to Peconic Medical Center and treated for minor injuries, police said.
Police declined to disclose the name of the drivers or passengers. No other information was available.
