Photos: Overturned semitruck shuts down part of Edwards Avenue in Calverton
Suffolk County Police have been investigating the circumstances surrounding an overturned semitruck on Edwards Avenue in Calverton near exit 71 of the Long Island Expressway for more than two hours Wednesday.
The truck, which was carrying dirt, was the only vehicle involved in the accident, which led to a male driver being taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said they have been on the scene since about 11 a.m.
Edwards Avenue is closed between South River Road and the L.I.E. overpass.
