Cops: Laurel woman was driving under influence of drugs … again

A Laurel woman with a suspended license was arrested Wednesday night for driving under the influence of drugs, Southold Town Police said.

Dorothy Guthrie, 41, was stopped by police on Peconic Bay Boulevard in Laurel about 9 p.m., police said.

Ms. Guthrie was arrested, transported to headquarters, processed, and held for arraignment, police said.She was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

This is the second DUI arrest in the past six months for Ms. Guthrie. She was arrested in November after causing a motor vehicle accident while driving under the influence of drugs, police said. She crashed her vehicle on Bray Avenue in Laurel and was charged with driving while impaired by drugs, according to an earlier Suffolk Times report.
