Florence Lojko

Florence Lojko of Riverhead died May 6 at the Riverhead Care Center. She was 100.

She was born Sept. 9, 1911, to Anufry and Cecilia Stasiukiewicz in Poland, where she married Stefan Lojko. She was a homemaker for most of her adult life.

Family members said she did a lot of crocheting, always had a beautiful garden and could cook anything fantastically.

Predeceased by her husband in 1989 and her son Stanley in 1978, Ms. Lojko is survived by her sons, Edward, of Aquebogue, Kazimierz, of Fort Salonga, and George, of South Jamesport; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, May 9, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A service will take place Thursday, May 10, at 10 a.m. at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead, followed by interment at the church cemetery.
