Want to talk dedication? Look no further than Jeremy McDermott. Even after moving away from his hometown of Riverhead to East Stroudsburg, Pa., McDermott still stayed committed to racing at Riverhead Raceway.
McDermott, who races in the charger division, would make the lengthy commute each week back to Riverhead to prepare for racing on Saturday’s.
A 10-year veteran of racing at Riverhead Raceway, McDermott plans to return to Long Island once again.
In only his second year racing in 2003 he won his first race, which he said is his favorite racing memory. When away from the track, he enjoys working at the shop with his friends and family.
His biggest supporters in his career have been his father Allen Reeves, his fiance Jessica and Jarod Zeltmann.
McDermott opened the 2012 season with a fourth-place finish on opening night and third-place finish May 12.
