It’s been a terrific start to the racing season for Eddie Brunnhoelzl III at Riverhead Raceway. An eight-year veteran of the modified division, he’s currently 6th in the modified point standings at Riverhead going into today’s racing.
Brunnhoelzl began racing go-karts while only 8 years old. Among his career highlights he said winning the 2006 Mountain Speedway Championship and Rookie of the Year honors are his favorite. In 2004-05 he was named Riverhead Modified Most Popular Driver and in 2003 was the Most Improved Driver.
He said racing close to home and the tough competition are the best parts about racing at Riverhead. Even when he’s away from the track, he loves working on his race car.
The biggest supporters in his career have been his parents, sister and girlfriend.
