Jerzy Sobolewski

Jerzy Sobolewski of Riverhead died June 15 at Stony Brook University Hospital. He was 52 years old.

He was born in Poland Feb. 12, 1960, to Mieczyslaw and Jozefa Sobolewski.

He worked locally as a carpenter, and family members said he enjoyed fishing and boating.

Mr. Sobolewski is survived by his wife, Ewa; his children, Joanna, of Staten Island, and Wojciech, of Riverhead; and four siblings, Krystyna Berman of New York City and Malgorzata Detkiewicz and Jan and Slawomir Sobolewski, all of Poland.

Cremation will be private, with arrangements by McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home of Riverhead.
