Abraham Trent

Abraham Trent died July 1 at his home in Riverhead. He was 92.

He was born March 1, 1920, in Cumberland, Va., to William Trent and Ivory Taylor. He had worked as lead operator at Crescent Duck Farm in Aquebogue.

Predeceased by his wife, Mary, Mr. Trent is survived by his sons, George, of Virginia, and Clarence, of Mastic; his daughters, Demple West of Virginia, Lucille Strange of Greenport and Ivory Brown, Dorothy Spruill and Patricia, all of Riverhead; his brothers, Joe, of Connecticut, and Raleigh, of Virginia; his sisters, Shirley Smith of North Carolina and Dorothy Kirby of Connecticut; 38 grandchildren; and 55 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will take place Tuesday, July 3, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead.

A service will be held at a future date at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cumberland, Va., with interment at the church cemetery.
