Jane Stakey Regula

Former Riverhead resident Jane Stakey Regula died July 21 at her home in Virginia Beach after a two-year battle with cancer. She was 67.

Born Feb. 17, 1945, in Greenport, she graduated from Riverhead High School in 1963 and attended Alfred University in Alfred, N.Y.

She and her husband, Stanley “Jack” Regula, settled in Virginia Beach in 1970, where she worked for 25 years in the accounting department of the law firm Williams Mullen (formerly Clark & Stant) and was a community volunteer for many years. She was a proud Navy wife, according to family members, and a devoted mother.

Ms. Regula is survived by her husband of 46 years; her daughters, Elizabeth Malkin and Kristin Heidkamp; her sister, Elizabeth Wivczar; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 27, at 3 p.m. at Holloman-Brown Funeral Home in Virginia Beach, followed by a repast at the family home.
