Cops: Heroin recovered in drug sting at Flanders home

A Friday morning drug raid at a home on Flanders Road led to the recovery of heroin and prescription pills packaged for sale and the arrest of a man who lives in the home, Southampton Town Police said.

John Henry Ward, 51, of 736 Flanders Road in Flanders faces two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, including a felony charge, police said.

Mr. Ward, a prior felony offender currently on parole for drug charges was processed at Southampton Town Police Headquarters and arraigned at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.

Police were acting on a warrant obtained following a prolonged investigation by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office East End Drug Task Force into the sale of heroin, police said.

Two others detained during the search were not charged by police.

This is not the first drug arrest at 736 Flanders Road. Myrtle J. Walker was arrested there after after she was found to be in possession of 95 bags of heroin, according to a previously published online report.
