Preview: Hearings tonight on Wading River zoning changes

The Riverhead Town Board will be holding public hearings on zoning changes recommended by the Route 25A Wading River corridor study at its meeting tonight, Aug. 21.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m.

The study, done by BHF Planning of New York, recommends changing zoning on three large properties on the north of Route 25A, across from CVS pharmacy, to a zone that would no longer  allow retail or restaurants, as the current zone does.

The new zoning would instead permit professional offices and multi-family residential housing.

Reporter Tim Gannon will be reporting live from the meeting.
