Joseph J. Ostop of Riverhead died Sept. 10 at the age of 91.
He was born Feb. 12, 1921, in New York City to Samuel and Helen (Valadkovitch) Ostop and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
He earned an associate degree at SUNY/Farmingdale and was a self-employed publisher in St. James.
Predeceased by his wife, Marie, in 1987, Mr. Ostop is survived by his sons, John, of East Hampton, and Joseph, of Northport; his daughter, Helen, of Binghamton, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. at Saint Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale. Arrangements are being handled by Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead.
