Wading River fire, ambulance call numbers from August/September

Wading River firefighters responded to 25 calls, including two water rescues and two structure fires, in August, according to figures released by Wading River Fire Department officials. Wading River ambulance crews responded to 69 calls that month, the report states.

Then in September, firefighters responded to 21 calls that included three water rescues and an elevator rescue.

Ambulance crews responded to 68 calls in September, including seven for traumatic injuries and four for allergic reactions.

As per the end of last month, firefighters responded to a total of 172 calls and ambulance crews responded to 568.
