BARBARAELLEN KOCH PHOTO | Riverhead High School Seniors Class of ’13, whose motto is ‘On the scene, Lucky ’13,’ marched down East Main Street following their float, ‘Up,’ the Pixar movie.

Riverhead High School students demonstrated and celebrated their school spirit with the annual Homecoming Parade down Main Street Saturday afternoon.

The float theme this year was Pixar films: the freshmen picked ‘Brave,’ the sophomores chose ‘Monster Inc.,’ the juniors ‘Finding Nemo’ and the seniors ‘Up’. The juniors won first place in the judging, with the seniors second, the sophomores third and the freshmen fourth.

The NJROTC color guard kicked it off, followed by school administrators and School Board, Town Board members, the marching band and the class floats. They were followed by PAL cheerleaders and football players.

The Senior Class queen, Gianna Pino, rode in a car with her boyfriend’s little brother, Alex Chiramonte, who was holding a sign that read: “I’m filling in for Anthony (king), my big brother.”
