Woman taken to hospital following Route 58 crash
An unidentified woman was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center after she was involved in a two-car crash in front of the Target store on Route 58 in Riverhead Wednesday morning, according to police on the scene.
The crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m.
The woman was in a tan Honda Accord that appeared to have struck head on into the rear driver side door of a blue Ford Escape, an officer said.
Traffic continued to flow in both directions as officers directed traffic and cleared the scene. Both cars were towed away about 9:30 a.m.
No further information was immediately available.
