Visitation hours set for Wading River crash victim

Funeral arrangements have been set for the Wading River man killed in a two-car crash in Calverton Friday morning, according to the Alexander-Tuthill Funeral Home.

Visitation for Joseph Amodemo, 66, will be held Tuesday at the funeral home on Route 25A in Wading River from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Wading River, according to the funeral home. Mr. Amodemo will be interred at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Coram, N.Y.

Mr. Amodemo was killed Friday morning when the gray 2011 Honda Accord he was driving collided with a dark green 1995 GMC Yukon traveling westbound on Middle Country Road, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver of the Yukon, 20-year-old Meghan Campbell of Shoreham, and her passenger, Chris Zullo, 25, of Riverhead, were also injured in the crash, police said. Ms. Campbell was treated at Peconic Bay Medical Center and released; an update on Mr. Zullo’s condition was unavailable.

Mr. Amodemo’s son-in-law, Scott Paskiewicz, said Saturday that Mr. Amodemo was a retired 6th grade teacher in Southampton.

Mr. Paskiewicz said Mr. Amodemo was  “a kind, kind man — no enemies — that’s all you need to know about him.”
