Cops look for Barth’s robbery witnesses

Police have released two surveillance stills from an armed robbery at Barth’s Pharmacy on Main Street and are hoping to get the public’s help in catching the suspects.

The incident happened about 6 p.m. last Wednesday, when three masked men stormed the downtown drugstore with a handgun.

The suspects grabbed assorted merchandise and cash while holding the employees at gunpoint.

The suspects were wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts and  fled the store through a rear door.

Riverhead detectives are looking to speak to any potential witness who might have been in the parking lot behind Barth’s at the time of the robbery. A parked vehicle was seen in the vicinity, with its headlights on, facing the rear door as the suspects fled the area, police said.

Another vehicle was seen at the same time driving in an easterly direction through the lot.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5000 for information that leads to an arrest.
