Man robbed, stabbed outside Riverhead laundromat

Three unknown men robbed and stabbed a man in the head Sunday evening near Riverside Laundry on West Main Street, police said.

The three men stole about $35 in cash, an AT&T cellphone and a Guatemalan ID card from the victim at about 5:30 p.m., according to a police report.

In the robbery, the victim was stabbed with a knife in the head, police said. He was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Riverhead ambulance volunteers for treatment, police said.

Detectives are investigating the incident.
