Albert E. Tosner

Albert E. Tosner of Riverhead died Dec. 16 at his home. He was 85.

Born Sept. 23, 1927, in Lynbrook to Anna (Allen) and Frank Tosner, he served during World War II from 1943 to 1945 as a seaman in the U.S. Merchant Marine. He returned and worked as a machinist at U.S. Dynamics Corporation in Amityville.

Mr. Tosner is survived by his wife, Phyllis (née DuPrey) Tosner; his children, Barbara Rost of Centereach, Nancy Medaglio of Oakdale, Michael, of Riverhead, Douglas, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Dennis, of Levittown; his siblings, Annie Seidle of California, Victor, of Uniondale, Catherine Bowden of New Hampshire, James, of Lynbrook, and Sandra Zilinsky of New Jersey; two grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

Visiting hours will take place today, Tuesday, Dec. 18, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A service will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 10 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Aquebogue, the Rev. Charles Byer officiating, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
