Flanders man faces felony DWI charge

A Flanders man whose license had been revoked for a prior DWI conviction is facing felony charges after he was arrested for drunken driving early on New Year’s Day, Southampton police said.

Police said they saw Gregorio Vasquez, 51, failing to stay in his lane while driving on Priscilla Avenue about 3:40 a.m.

He was pulled over Mr. Vasquez and discovered to be driving drunk, police said.

After his arrest, officers found that Mr. Vasquez had previously been convicted of DWI and had his license revoked as part of his sentence.

He was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed driving, also a felony.

He was processed at Southampton Town police headquarters and held for a morning arraignment.
