Armed, masked men storm Riverhead home
Two masked men armed with a gun and knife stormed a 22-year-old woman’s Riverhead apartment just before midnight Friday and ransacked the residence, Riverhead police said.
The victim was able to escape her home at 641 Doctors Path and call police at 12:19 a.m., police said.
But when officers arrived the suspects had already fled the premises.
A K-9 was able to track the men to an area behind the apartment complex, “where it is believed the subjects got into a waiting vehicle,” according to a Riverhead police press release.
Police say the suspects made off with cash and clothing, adding that the incident was related to “illegal drug activity.”
No injuries were reported.
