John E. Kosciuszko Sr.

John E. Kosciuszko Sr. died Jan. 11 at his home in Flanders. He was 84 years old.

He was born Oct. 1, 1928, in Riverhead to Mary (Zeakraski) and Joseph John Kosciuszko and worked for many years as a feed mill operator at Agway in Riverhead.

Predeceased by his wife, Erna (née Breitenbach), in 1988, he is survived by his sons, John Jr., of Mastic, Thomas, of Southampton, Richard, of Aquebogue, and Joseph, of Delaware; his daughters, Joan and Susan, both of Riverhead; his sisters, Bertha Kulesa of Calverton and Helen Truskoski of Florida; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours took place Jan. 14 at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead, where a service was held Jan. 15, Pastor Charles Bell officiating. Interment was at Riverhead Cemetery.
