Joseph P. Quinn Sr.

Joseph P. Quinn Sr. of Riverhead died Jan. 22 at the Westhampton Care Center. He was 85 years old.

He was born Dec. 3, 1927, to John and Irene Quinn in Brooklyn, where he married Merriel Yeager on June 20, 1953. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, he worked as a clerk at the A&P in Riverhead.

Family members said he enjoyed baseball and football.

Mr. Quinn is survived by his wife and his son, Joseph, both of Riverhead; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will take place Thursday, Jan. 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead.
