News-Review reader Deborah Wetzel always wanted to get a photo of the bullfrogs that make their home in Willow Pond in Riverhead. In the spring, Ms. Wetzel noted how she can always hear the bullfrogs buzzing about.
With a new digital Sony camera, Ms. Wetzel noticed the bullfrogs out “sunning themselves” on a recent day and found the perfect opportunity to capture a few photos.
The male bullfrogs’ call is described as “reminiscent of the roar of a bull.” Hence, a bullfrog.
PetWatch, a program that provides consumers with information on exotic pets, listed the bullfrog as a “Worst Choice” pet.
Better to leave them in their pond.
