Frank J. McKay

Aquebogue farmer Frank J. McKay died Feb. 17 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. He was 96.

He was born Aug. 30, 1916, in Riverhead to John A. and Margaret (Bilski) McKay. Family members said he was an avid Mets fan who enjoyed landscaping and gardening. He was a member of the St. Isidore R.C. Church Holy Name Society in Riverhead.

Predeceased by his wife, Helen, in 2004, and his daughter Charlotte Krill in 2011, Mr. McKay is survived by his sons, Frank W., of Riverhead, and Dennis, of Wellesley, Mass.; his daughter Kathleen Stevens of Westhampton; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore Church, followed by interment at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church cemetery.
