Henry Dermigny

Henry Dermigny of Jamesport died Jan. 21 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson. He was 82 years old.

Born Dec. 15, 1930, in Hempstead to Henry and Anne Dermigny, he had worked as a heavy-equipment operator in the Village of Mineola. 

He was a member of the Mineola and Rocky Point fire departments and was a safety officer for the Jamesport Fire Department. He belonged to the Long Island Antique Fire Apparatus Association.

Mr. Dermigny was a semi-pro hockey player in his youth. Friends said he enjoyed fishing, boating and making model trains and fire trucks.

Predeceased by his wife, Marilyn, in 2005, he is survived by many friends.

Visiting hours took place Jan. 23 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral Mass was held Jan. 24 at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead, followed by interment at Nassau Knolls Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation, Good Shepherd Hospice or the Firemen’s Home on the Hudson.
