Erminia ‘Emma’ C. Hunsinger

Erminia C. Hunsinger of Riverhead, known as Emma, died Feb. 25 at Riverhead Care Center.

Born May 21, 1916, in Brooklyn to Rosario and Teresina (Musilli) DeMartino, she was a homemaker for most of her adult life.

Predeceased by her husband, Arthur, and in 1968 by her son, Arthur, Ms. Hunsinger is survived by her daughters, Carol, of Riverhead, and Laura Gordon of upstate New York; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, Feb. 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. and Friday, March 1, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Larry Duncklee on Saturday, March 2, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
