Genevieve Horton

Longtime Manorville resident Genevieve Horton died Feb. 25 at the Westhampton Care Facility. She was 99 years old.

Born Dec. 18, 1913, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., to Anthony and Stella Kosloski, Genevieve was the second of eight children. She is survived by her brother John Kosloski; sister, Vicki Mulcahy; and brother Joe Kosloski. 

She married Stanley Krupski Horton 75 years ago. She was mother to Irene Kneski and Stanley Krupski; mother-in-law to Kenneth Kneski and Marianne Krupski; grandmother to Edward Kneski, Gary Kneski, Deborah Neuberger, Dennis Krupski and Tracy Orlando; and great-grandmother to Scott Neuberger, Eddie Kneski, Madeline Neuberger, Nick Kneski, Olivia Kneski, Karissa Orlando, Lauren Genevieve Kneski, Caroline Kneski and Jason Kneski.

Genevieve was retired from Little Flower Institute in Wading River and enjoyed her retirement as a homemaker and bingo player and attending John Wesley Senior Center in Riverhead. She was a charter member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Ladies Auxiliary, Ladies Auxiliary of the Manorville Fire Department and Riverhead Polish-American Club. Her biggest joy was watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow!

The family received friends Feb. 27 at Alexander-Tuthill Funeral Home in Wading River. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Feb. 28 at Sts. Peter and Paul R.C. Church in Manorville. Interment followed at St. Isidore Cemetery in Riverhead.
