Marjorie E. Edwards

Lifelong Riverhead resident Marjorie E. Edwards died March 2, 2013, at Peconic Bay Medical Center. She was 87 years old.

Born Sept. 26, 1925, to William and Edith (Neville) Edwards, she graduated from Riverhead High School and was employed as a legal secretary at Smith, Finkelstein, Lundberg, Isler and Yakaboski in Riverhead.

Ms. Edwards dedicated her life to her family. She enjoyed traveling and bowling and was a member of the Riverhead Elkettes and Grace Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her brother, George Edwards of Westhampton; great-nieces Maureen Brown and Deborah Wilson and great-nephew Timothy Wilson, all of Riverhead; great-great niece and -nephew Cassidy and Logan Brown; and cousin Sybil Edwards of Queens. She was predeceased by her parents and her niece, Starr Ryder.

Visiting hours will take place Tuesday, March 5, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, March 6, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home by the Rev. Charles Byer. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
