Barnett Saladon

Former Calverton resident Barnett “Barney” Saladon of Leesburg, Fla., died April 7. He was 86 years old.

Born Aug. 15, 1926, in Calverton to Celia (Alexander) and Coleman Saladon, he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War II and was honorably discharged.

Mr. Saladon owned Locust Tree Farm in Calverton until 1968. He retired and moved to Florida about 25 years ago.

He is survived by his children, Richard Saladon and Karen Carrick, both of Riverhead, and Steve Saladon of Speonk; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Cremation was private. A memorial service will be held at a future date at First Baptist Church in Leesburg.
