Cops probe report of home aide stealing from Riverside woman

A woman reported to police Friday that her friend’s live-in caretaker had stolen about $2,000 from the friend’s bank account over time, Southampton Town police said.

The alleged victim, who lives on Riverleigh Avenue in Riverside, is disabled with Alzhiemer’s Disease and is not capable of taking care of herself, according to a police report.

Detectives are investigating the case as a possible fourth-degree grand larceny, which is a Class E felony, and have contacted the victim’s bank.

No arrests have been made.
