Jesse Wilson

Jesse Wilson of Cutchogue died May 25, 2013, after a lengthy illness. He was 80 years old.

He was born Feb. 8, 1933, in Boligee, Ala., to Samuel and Lily Mae (Clemon) Wilson and attended Green County Training School in Green County, Ala.

He later married Isabella Johnson in Greenport and together they made their home in Cutchogue, where Jesse was a resident for the past 55 years. He had retired from Shalvey Farms and the Southold Town landfill.

In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and fishing.

Surviving are Jesse’s wife, Isabella; three children, Barbara Locklear-Chen, Richard Locklear and Keith Locklear; his brothers Frank and Calvin Wilson; and two grandchildren, Tina Nicole Locklear-Brunson and France Patricia Locklear-Preston. He was predeceased by his siblings Thomas, Samuel, Bertha Mae, Anna Mae, Lurethia and Mattie Bea Wilson.

Family will receive friends Thursday, May 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck, where homegoing services will be held Friday, May 31, at 11 a.m., the Rev. Marvin Dozier officiating. Interment will follow at Cutchogue Cemetery.
