Shawn Terrell Brown

Shawn Terrell Brown of Riverhead died June 1 at the age of 37.

He was born June 17, 1975, in Riverhead to Sara and Robert Brown and graduated from Riverhead High School. After graduation, he was employed by Walmart.

Family members described him as an energetic “jokester” who enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Brown is survived by his parents, his wife, Alyssa, and his daughters, Alyanna and Jocelyn, all of Riverhead; his stepchildren, Rachel and Aaron, also of Riverhead; four sisters, Angela Alvarado, Lucretia Hedgebeth of Riverhead, Natasha Hedgebeth and Teresa Brown of Rochester, N.Y.; two brothers, Troy, of Virginia, and Cornelius Hedgebeth of Riverhead; as well as many other family members.

The family received visitors June 7 at Seay Memorial Chapel in Riverhead, where a funeral service immediately followed. Interment was private.
