Police: Flanders man caught driving drunk in East Quogue

A Flanders man was arrested early Friday morning for driving drunk along Lewis Road in East Quogue, according to a Southampton Town police press release.

Gerson Ruiz, 21, was initially pulled over for a traffic violation shortly after midnight, police said, but roadside sobriety tests revealed he had been drinking.

He was arrested for driving while intoxicated, police said. He was held overnight for a Friday morning arraignment.
