Bernard Askedall

Bernard Askedall of Riverhead died Aug. 17 at his home. He was 84 years old.

He was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Brooklyn to Ingulf and Ethel Askedall. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1945 to 1948 and again from 1950 to 1951. He was most recently employed as an office manager for Motors Insurance Corp. in New Jersey.

He married Alice Juren Sept. 12, 1950, in Baldwin. Family members said he enjoyed hunting.

Mr. Askedall is survived by his wife; his daughter, Karen Kringle of Riverhead; his son, Glenn, of Baldwin; and four grandchildren.

The family received visitors Aug. 19 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead, where a funeral service was held Aug. 20, officiated by Pastor Byer of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Aquebogue. Interment followed at Washington Memorial Park in Mount Sinai.
