Miguel Maysonet’s stint with his third NFL team was a short one.

The former Riverhead and Stony Brook University standout was released from the Indianapolis’ Colts practice squad this afternoon, the team announced. Maysonet signed with the Colts Sept. 16.

The Colts signed wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers and running back Kerwynn Williams and released wide receiver Danny Coale and Maysonet. Teams can keep up to eight players on the practice squad.

Maysonet tweeted to his 1,300 followers this afternoon: “No one said this was going to be easy.”

Indianapolis was already Maysonet’s third team this season. He signed with the Philadelphia Eagles shortly after the NFL draft ended in April. He was released in May and the Cleveland Browns claimed him off waivers. He spent the full training camp in Cleveland and saw action in all four of the Browns preseason games. The Browns released him as they trimmed their roster down to the final 53 players.

During the preseason, Maysonet rushed for 30 yards on 13 carries and caught three passes for 14 yards.
