A construction trailer filled with about $5,000 in equipment and tools was stolen from a Flanders property last week, Southampton Town police said.

The trailer, a 1997 United model, was left unlocked on a property on Nassau Road last Sunday afternoon, according to a police report. But when the owner returned the next morning, the trailer was missing, police said.

The trailer is worth $3,000 and contained about $5,000 in assorted constructions tools, the report states.

Police are investigating the theft.
