Orazio A. Rapuano

Orazio A. Rapuano of Cutchogue died Nov. 12, 2013, at the Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook. He was 78 years old.

He was born in Queens July 25, 1935, to Benjamin and Michaelina (Soldovieri) Rapuano. From 1953 to 1956, he served in the U.S. Army.

For many years, he was the proprietor of a stationery store in Corona, Queens. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church and will be remembered for his kindness to the poor.

Surviving are his wife, Julia (née Visaggio) Rapuano, and a brother, Gerard Rapuano of Deer Park.

The family received friends Nov. 15 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated later that morning at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck by Monsignor Joseph W. Staudt. Interment, with U.S. Army honors, was at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery in Cutchogue.
