A Riverhead teen is being held on $150,000 cash bail after allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint and striking the man in the face with the gun, officials said during the teen’s arraignment Thursday morning.

Julian Williams, 18, of Riverhead, was arraigned on a felony robbery charge by Justice Richard Ehlers about 10:20 a.m. after he – along with another man and woman – robbed a man at gunpoint on Delores Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday, sending nearby Riverhead schools into lockdown, police said.

Police are still searching for the other two people involved.

Mr. Williams displayed what appeared to be a pistol and hit the victim in the face with the gun, stealing about $6 and assorted visa credit cards, Justice Ehlers said during court.

Assistant district attorney Tim McNulty said Mr. Williams has a prior charge of first-degree robbery which occurred in August, as well as charges of driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest which occurred in March 2012.

Online court records show that Mr. Williams was also charged with second-degree robbery in relation to an incident that occurred on July 9.

In court, Mr. Williams said he had been working at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Rocky Point, and had recently interviewed for another area fast food location.

Mr. McNulty said an order of protection is being drawn-up against Mr. Williams for the victim.

Mr. Williams is expected back in court Monday.
