Cops: Intoxicated woman on snowmobile resists arrest
A 52-year-old Riverhead woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving an unregistered snowmobile while intoxicated and then resisting arrest Saturday night, police said.
Sharon Bekiesz-Gallo was stopped on a black Arctic Cat snowmobile on Osborn Avenue about 8:35 p.m., according to a report.
Ms. Bekiesz-Gallo was charged with operating a snowmobile on a street while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a violation. She was also ticketed for operating an unregistered snowmobile and was arrested for resisting arrest, according to a report.
Additional information was not immediately available.
She was held for arraignment Sunday morning, police said.
