Riverhead Town and Suffolk County Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a woman they say attempted to purchase items using counterfeit money at a Route 58 business back in November, authorities said.

Police have released surveillance images of the suspect dressed in a black jacket and pants, who is seen holding two items on Nov. 22., about 7:45 p.m. at Riverhead Beauty Supply.

Police said the woman attempted to use a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase the items, and fled the store soon after.

Police are asking anyone with information on the suspect to call (800) 220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

Crime Stoppers is offering reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to an arrest.
