The Riverhead Blue Masques received a check Thursday totaling $3,620 from Riverhead Ford-Lincoln after a successful fundraising campaign in November brought the two together.

The Blue Masques — Riverhead High School’s drama club — hosted its second “Driven to Give” fundraiser in November in conjunction with Riverhead-Ford Lincoln. For every car test driven, the car dealership agreed to donate $20 to the club, no strings attached.

The drama club was raising funds for its spring musical, “The Wiz,” which will be presented beginning at the end of March.

The fundraiser raised nearly twice as much money as last years.

“We are very thankful to [general manager Tom] Williams and Riverhead Ford-Lincoln,” director Dena Tishim said in a press release. “The money will go a long way to helping us cover our expenses for our spring production.”

Director Jessica Guadagnino said another drive in the spring was in the works.

The performance dates for “The Wiz” are 7 p.m. March 29; 2 p.m. March 30; 7 p.m. April 4 and 7 p.m. April 5. For more information, contact Ms. Tishim at (631) 369-6711.

“The Wiz” features music by Charlie Smalls and is based on the book by William F. Brown. It’s the retelling of the famed book “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.”
