Wading River fire, ambulance call numbers from January
Wading River firefighters responded to 19 calls — including five structure fires and two gas leaks — in January, according to figures released by Wading River Fire District officials. Wading River ambulance crews responded to 62 calls last month, the report states.

Earlier this month, fire officials reported 2013 was the second-busiest year ever for the department.
