RIVERHEAD

Congratulations to Karen and Michael Skop on the birth of their daughter, Adelaide Rose, born Jan. 25 weighing nine pounds and measuring 22 inches. Her big sister, Evelyn, is so happy to have a sister to play with. Grandparents Nancy and Howie Gassert and Susan and Victor Skop are so thrilled with the new addition to their family. The students at Aquebogue Elementary, where Karen is a kindergarten teacher, are also very happy to hear the great news.

Save the date! Peconic Bay Medical Center volunteers will host a Valentine’s Day bake sale in the lobby Friday, Feb. 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Be sure to stop by to get some delicious home-baked goodies while supporting your local hospital.

Ever-Ready Engine Company No. 3 of the Riverhead Fire Department held its annual installation/inspection of officers Jan. 31 at Baiting Hollow Country Club. Secretary Joe Bernat was given the oath of office by 3rd assistant chief Tim Corwin; 2nd Lt. Joe Hartmann and 1st Lt. Ken Nabrezny were sworn in by 2nd assistant chief Pete Jackman; and Captain Tom Pipczynski Jr. was sworn in by 1st assistant chief Kevin Brooks. This year Georgette Case, daughter of the late A. Lloyd Case, presented the award to ex-chief George “Gio” Woodson. Also, the following members received plaques recognizing their years of dedicated service: 20 years — 1st Lt.
