Riverhead High School seniors honored by Riverhead Rotary

Riverhead High School seniors Ceaser Chabla-Sarmiento and Stephanie Falisi have been honored as students of the month by the Riverhead Rotary.

The two were selected by their high school guidance departments and were guests of the club at a luncheon on Wednesday. 

Ceaser  — the Class of 2014’s valedictorian — has a weighted grade point average of 106.3102 and is president of both the high school math club and the Leader’s Club. He is also a member of Mentathletes and a member of the National Honor Society.

Ceaser is also an active volunteer, working with the Charity for the Needy in Ecuador and tutoring fellow students. He plans to major in engineering and aims to attend law school after he graduates from college.

Stephanie has also volunteered for Toys for Tots, a book drive for Peconic Bay Medical Center and various food drives for local churches. She has helped raise money for the Brendan House group home for traumatic brain injury survivors.

She participates in many community service activities such as the Rotary’s annual spaghetti dinner, pancake breakfast, and holiday bell-ringing for the Salvation Army. Stephanie is also a member of the Interact Club at Riverhead High School.

Stephanie has played varsity softball since 9th grade and also competes on the varsity winter track and volleyball teams.

She is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Foreign Language Honor Society. She plans to major in biology next year and aspires to be a pediatric oncologist.
